The more your clients know about how massage can benefit their lives, the better clients they are likely to become! If you’d like to be able to send your clients all the latest news in the massage field (the most recent study results, consumer health surveys and reports, etc.), you should subscribe to our “new issue” service! For instance, an issue I prepared for use in Fall 2006 contained the following quote from an article in the Fall 2006 issue of MTJ: “One of the neatest things about the job I do is when we go into a patient’s room where they’re hooked up to different monitors, I actually watch their physiology change as I give them a massage—their oxygen saturation goes up, their blood pressure comes down, and their heart rate comes down.” The therapist being quoted, Jeremy Miller, is a staff member at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. What could be more compelling to your clients than regularly sharing this type of information with them?

Here’s how this service works: When you subscribe, you’ll receive a new master copy of the latest issue of Staying in Touch via email on the first business day of each month. (Also use them for prospective clients, office handouts, etc.) Along with regularly sharing positive news and articles about massage and the many ways it can help improve health, you’ll be reminding your clients to:

• Call for their next massage appointment

• Purchase gift certificates

• Refer their family and friends

• Take better care of themselves

Another great feature of this service is that three of the issues specifically promote gift certificate sales for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and the end-of-year holiday season! This alone can bring quite a nice return on your minimal financial investment. The Basic level of this service provides you with newsletter master copies that allow you to add your contact info (name, address, phone number(s), state licensing credentials, etc.) and even a short message underneath the return address area (Great for including a “buy now” special of the month or a short inspirational saying). Just add your contact info and print as many copies as you need ... or print one copy and have your issue reproduced at a Staples, Kinkos, etc.

The Premium level also provides you with an alternate version of each issue with blank columns that allow you to add your own personal messages and/or special offers—right in your computer. This is a great way to introduce new services or to announce new modalities you’ve learned, etc. Also effective when you have a special event (health fairs, sports events, lectures) and you’d like to write a special message geared for the occasion.

For a monthly charge of only $12.50, I’ll send you (by email) on the first business day of each month the new issue of Staying in Touch you can use to promote your practice. You’ll continue to be charged $12.50 on the first of each month and receive the new, monthly issue until you choose to discontinue the service.
